This project is a book inspired by the 1984 film adaptation of Nineteen Eighty-Four, a dystopian story about surveillance, totalitarian control, and the erasure of individual thought. To reflect the need for secrecy in the film’s world, I designed this book as a pocket-sized edition—small enough to be hidden, just like forbidden thoughts.

The book’s narrative structure mirrors Winston Smith’s diary, creating an intimate reading experience that aligns with his fragmented recollections and resistance. Visually, I adopted a vintage aesthetic influenced by Soviet Constructivism, a style that not only reflects the film’s design language but also reinforces the oppressive reality of 1984's society.

Throughout the book, I frequently use the shape of a television screen—both a propaganda tool and the omnipresent eye of Big Brother. Additionally, I incorporated transparent film pages in scenes related to Winston and Julia’s relationship, symbolizing their love as an illusion under totalitarian rule—ephemeral, fragile, and ultimately doomed.
